Singapore’s Fish House

This beautifully exotic residence in Singapore, thoughtfully named the “Fish House,” was designed by the team at Guz Architects with the idea of ensuring a connection with nature and the homes’ surrounding landscapes.  A “modern tropical bungalow,” the Fish House is perfectly integrated in its environment. The architectural design encourages natural ventilation throughout the home, and the floor to ceiling windows provide beautifully unobstructed views of the body of water surrounding it.  Read more …

Introducing St. Bartholomew’s Chapel

Built on the Rincon Indian reservation in the picturesque back country of San Diego, local design team Kevin deFreitas Architects recently completed the beautiful new St. Bartholomew’s Chapel. The small historic Chapel was destroyed by a wildfire in late 2007. The only surviving elements were the adobe bell tower and the Mission bell, which would serve as the main anchor in the redesign plan. The new design knit together past traditions, while acknowledging and offering relevance to current and future generations. Read more …
